NDIS Daily Tasks / Shared Living

A Home That Works for You

Your home should feel like a place you enjoy being in—not a source of stress. At Serene Life, we are dedicated to ensuring your home life is perfectly suited to your needs. Whether you require assistance with daily tasks or are seeking a comfortable and inviting shared living environment, we are here to help.

Support That Fits Around Your Life

Daily Tasks and Shared Living support (NDIS Support Category 0115) helps you manage your home, your routine, and your independence on your own terms. This support falls under Core Supports in your NDIS plan, so it is flexible and does not require NDIA approval every time you use it. You are in charge of what help you receive and how often.

Skilled People Who Actually Care

You will have access to experienced Support Workers, alongside Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs), who understand what good home-based support looks like. Families, doctors, and allied health professionals trust us because they see the difference consistent, skilled care makes.

The Same Supportive Faces, Week After Week

We match you with support workers you see consistently. Over time, they learn your routine, your preferences, and the little things that make your day better. That kind of familiarity is not a luxury—it is what makes support truly supportive.

What Your Support Covers

People use this support in many ways. Here are the most common tasks your 0115 funding can cover:

Cleaning and Tidying

Vacuuming, mopping, wiping surfaces, and keeping bathrooms and kitchens clean. A tidy home helps you feel better and stay well, and your support worker handles it so you don’t have to push through it on a hard day.

Laundry and Clothing Care

Washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes. Ironing too, if that is part of your routine. Keeping on top of laundry is one of those tasks that quietly takes over when you are already stretched.

Cooking and Meal Preparation

Help with food shopping, cooking meals, and preparing snacks. Your dietary needs, allergies, and food preferences guide everything. You stay in control of what you eat, and your support worker makes it happen.

Home Organisation

Sorting paperwork, managing bins, keeping common areas tidy, and setting up systems that work for your day. A well-organised home reduces stress and makes everything else easier to manage.

Grocery Shopping

Your support worker can go with you to the shops or shop on your behalf. This falls under home management and daily living. If your worker uses their own vehicle, standard NDIS travel rates may apply, and we will inform you of any extra costs upfront.

Shared Living Support

If you live in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home with other NDIS participants, our workers help all housemates with daily tasks. Each person receives support tailored to their individual needs, while shared spaces are maintained for everyone.

Building Skills at Your Own Pace

Some people want to do more for themselves over time. We can work alongside you to gradually build skills such as cooking a simple meal, managing a laundry routine, or keeping your space organised. The pace is always set by you.

Shared Living That Feels Like Home

Shared living is about more than just having somewhere to stay. It’s about belonging to a place where your interests matter and your days have real structure. Whether it’s gardening, cooking, music, sport, or simply spending time outdoors, your passions become part of your daily routine.

Get Out and About Whenever You Want

Our shared living homes include access to a car and driver for medical appointments, family visits, community events, or simply getting out of the house. You have the freedom to go where you need to without having to organise it all yourself.

Homes Designed With Care and Comfort

Our homes are cosy, well-equipped, and thoughtfully laid out so you feel at ease from the moment you arrive. Transitioning from hospital care or another living situation does not have to be difficult. We make sure the environment feels right, and your support team is there every step of the way.

Close to the Places That Matter to You

You will find Serene Life shared living homes and in-home support across Sydney, Adelaide, Newcastle, Canberra, and nearby areas. Each location is chosen so you can stay connected to services, community, and the people who matter most.

Who Is This Support For?

People Who Live Alone
Living alone with a disability means tasks can pile up quickly. This support helps you keep your home clean, safe, and running without relying on family or friends.

People in Shared Living Arrangements
If you share a home with other NDIS participants, this support helps manage the household while ensuring each person gets the right individual level of care.

People Working Towards More Independence
If your goal is to do more for yourself over time, this support provides a strong starting point. We build skills alongside you so independence grows at a pace that suits you.

Family Carers Who Need a Break
Family members often absorb many household tasks for the person they care for. This support shares that load, giving carers time to rest while their loved one receives consistent, trained help.

People Recovering from Illness or Injury
A new diagnosis or change in health can make home tasks feel impossible overnight. This support steps in quickly to keep your home running while you adjust and recover.

How to Get Started With Your NDIS Plan

Daily Tasks and Shared Living support (0115) is funded through Core Supports. It is flexible and does not require NDIA approval every time you use it. Here’s how it works:

Step 1: Check Your Core Supports Budget
Open your NDIS plan and look for Core Supports. Daily Tasks and Shared Living (0115) draws from this budget. Your plan manager or support coordinator can confirm what is available.

Step 2: Reach Out to Serene Life
Contact us directly if you self-manage or plan-manage your funding. If your plan is agency-managed, your support coordinator can connect you with us. Either way, the choice is yours.

Step 3: Tell Us What Your Home Needs
We have a simple intake process. We ask about your home, your routine, and the tasks you want help with—no long forms, no confusing steps.

Step 4: We Find the Right Person for You
We match you with a support worker who suits your needs, location, schedule, and personal preferences, including language and cultural background.

Step 5: Support Starts and Stays Flexible
Your support begins on a schedule that works for you. As your needs change, your support adapts too. You are never locked into a fixed arrangement.
Not sure if you have this funding? Look for Core Supports in your plan document. If it’s not there, ask your support coordinator about a plan review. An OT report or functional assessment can help build the case for getting it added.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 0115 and 0107?

Support Category 0107 covers personal care tasks like showering, dressing, and eating. Support Category 0115 covers household tasks like cleaning, cooking, and laundry. Some people have funding for both; others have one or the other. Check your NDIS plan to see what is available.

Can I use this support if I live in my own home?

Yes. You do not need to live in a shared or supported home to access this support. Many people use it in a private rental or a home they own. Support comes to you wherever you live within our service areas.

What is shared living and how does it work?

Shared living is a supportive environment where you live alongside other NDIS participants while receiving personalised care. You share common spaces and receive help with daily tasks, personal care, and activities that match your interests. Each person gets a tailored level of support.

What if I only need help once a week?

That’s completely fine. You can use your Core Supports funding as little or as much as your plan allows. Some people book one session per week; others book daily support. We work around what your plan covers and what you actually need.

Does shared living include transport?

Yes. Each of our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes includes access to a car and driver. This makes it easy to attend appointments, join social activities, or simply get out and enjoy your day.

Does this support cover shared living in an SDA home?

Daily Tasks and Shared Living (0115) can be part of a Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangement in a Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) home. SIL and SDA each have their own funding categories. Your support coordinator can help you work out how everything fits together in your plan.
